Jamie McLaughlin is an environmental and animal lawyer in Portland, Oregon. She is vice president of the Animal Law Commission of the Union Internationale des Avocats (UIA), a Paris-based organization of international lawyers. She received her J.D. with a Certificate in Public Interest Law from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, Illinois, and an LL.M. in animal law from Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon. Jamie received her B.A. in anthropology and English from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville. She has a background in finance and holds a Certified Financial Planner designation. Jamie’s concentrations are animal legal status, and the impacts of industrial animal agriculture models on the environment, humans and nonhuman animals. She is currently completing an LL.M. in environmental law at Lewis & Clark.
